Lovely ART DECO Silver MUSTARD POT Hallmarked 1929 NR Birmingham: Adie Brothers - Blue Liner - Silver Spoon This is a super ART DECO solid sterling silver mustard pot with a hinged lid, spire finial and a Bristol blue glass liner that was made in Birmingham, England in 1929 by the illustrious silversmiths, Adie Brothers at their Frederick Street workshops. It is round in shape, is raised on a circular base, has faceted sides and has a solid silver mustard spoon. It measures 1 7/8" high by 1 3/4" in diameter and is 2 1/2" long including the handle. The sterling silver mustard spoon is 2 1/2" long and over 5/8" across its round bowl. It is NOT engraved with a crest or initials. The quality of this mustard pot and spoon shows in the weight - 30.4 grams (without the liner) which is virtually 1 troy oz. It is in very good condition with just the usual surface scratching with little distortion, NO dents, few dinks and little play to the hinge!!! - but it does need a better clean than I have had time to give it. The glass liner is well fitting with no cracks or repairs and NO chips. The pot is hallmarked ABrosLtd, anchor, lion passant (sterling silver assay mark), E showing that it was hallmarked in Birmingham in 1929. The spoon is hallmarked for Sheffield 1889. I have shown the main hallmark so that you can make up your own mind. A delightful addition to someone's table or collection after over 80 years. Postage will be 3.50GBP both within the UK and to international destinations. Please note that the primary postage costs are for second class (or standard parcels service if the postage cost is over 6.00GBP) within the UK or surface mail to international destinations.
