For your bidding pleasure, I have a Lunt Lemon Sterling Silver Fork in the “English Shell” pattern, made popular in 1937. This delightful fork has the Lunt silver mark on the back and no monogram. What a conversation piece this would make. Imagine explaining to your friends (invited over for tea), the history behind this exquisite fork.
Lunt Sterling Silverware has been in the making for over 100 years (having formerly been the A. F. Towle Company). As a matter of fact, they are still in business. They have been situated in Greenfield, Massachusetts since the late 1800s. On their website, under ‘Pattern Archive’, you can find the English Shell pattern, which was manufactured in 1937. All patterns manufactured from 1903 to present carry the Lunt trademark. Anything before that date, carried the A.F. Towle mark.
