"F.B. ROGERS SILVERPLATE CRUMB CATCHER/ASH COLLECTOR"
This solidly constructed F.B. Rogers Silverplate crumb catcher, ash collector or silent butler is a small 3" by 4" box with thumb tab to flip the lid open and a wooden handle. The lid has a heraldic design with the words, "Major Ab Adversis." The underside has textured lines and is marked, "F.B. Rogers Silverplate." It has a rope design edging, ornate shell thumb tab and the stags and shield design with Latin words. Some neatnik cleaned the shine off. Could it be resilvered?

The box measures 4 3/8" by 3 1/4" by 1 1/2" not including the thumb tab and 4" handle which makes it 7" long. It weighs 13.2 oz. Shipping weight: 1 lb. 3 oz. Original cost: unknown. Bid now.
